lincahoma "classnite, classnite- see it on friday or Saturday night." sing ended in december and all the other classes could happily return to their long, peaceful days of uninterrupted relaxation, with no college boards to study for and the state scholarship test still in the distant future, lincoln's lower termers sank back into pre-sing habits. but, being by far, the healthiest, most energetic, most inspired class, you seniors didn't sit still for a moment, in between all your other little worries (eg college, jobs, etc.) you began working on the best and biggest production of the year, senior classnite-1958. your show was original, except for a plot and a couple of songs borrowed from messrs. rodgers and hammerstein. besides this, the whole show was written and produced by seniors - or, rather seniors plus mr. and mrs. edward shapiro. this year you produced "lincahoma.n this was a version of the rodgers and hammerstein smash hit musical play with a similar title, (purely coincidental) but this is only half the story, the other half is the classroom scenes, satirizing many of your teachers, mr. pooper (nee cooper) is the star of the economics scene, while good old mr. beanberg (or greenberg, as you will) heads the english scene, our handsome and charming mr. physicson (also commonly known as "heis" isaacson, mrs. nosen (alias mrs. eisen) and dear mrs. hexler (wexler to the uninformed) were considered the star attractions. and it was over so quickly ... sadly we joined in the refrain, "the school i go to . . . rt |

June,1958 Dear Senior: When the term begins next fall, a great number of you will be in classrooms other than Lincoln's, classrooms of colleges throughout the land, The anxiety of waiting for that acceptance notice or for the results of that College Board test will be over, and you will feel the exhilaration of beginning a new adventure. For us in the College Office inhere have been satisfaction and pleasure in helping you take this big step. Each time one of you has come in to report an acceptance by a college or a scholarship won, we have, indeed, shared in your excitement. Now, in wishing you farewell, we should like to remind you that our interest in your welfare is a continuing one. If at any time the College Office may be of assistance to you, please call on us. We are always glad to hear how you are doing, both to take pride in your achievements and to help us in guiding those who follow after you. Accept our heartfelt wishes for success in your future endeavors, and remember that wherever you are, you are in a very important way a representative graduate of Lincoln High.
